 Note: If you already have a username and password you can “Log In” directly.


For new members:

We recommend doing this on a computer.

1.       Go to https://gsceverywhere.ca/login

2.       If you are a new student click ‘Register Your Account’ (returning students that have already registered can instead proceed to the Login page to access their account).

3.       Enter your Plan Member ID* and your date of birth and click ‘Next’.

Your Green Shield Plan Member ID will be, “ECSyour student number-00” (you don’t need to include the zeros in front of your student number). Example ECS12345-00

*Example: 

Student ID: 0012345

Plan Member ID: ECS12345-00

4.       You should now be on a page that says “Two-Factor Authentication”. Check the box if you want to set up two factor authentication as an additional layer of security on your account. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

5.       Under ‘Account Validation’ enter the year of your birth and the last three digits of your Student ID Number. For example, if your birthday was December 25, 1996 and your ID number was ECS12345-00. You would enter 1996345. Click ‘Next’ to continue. (Note: this step might not appear)

6.       You should now be on a page that says “Additional Validation”. You will be asked a question about your past claims experience to validate your registration. You must answer this question to proceed. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

7.       You will now ‘Create Your Username’ that you will use to login in the future. Select a username that meets the parameters and click the ‘Next’ button. Your username cannot be an email address. We recommend choosing something you will remember easily, for example, your last name.

8.       To ‘Create Your Password’ choose a password that matches the parameters and then re-enter it to confirm. Click ‘Next’ to continue’.

9.       You should now be on a page that says ‘Your Email Address’. Enter and confirm the email address you want to use for your health and dental plan. This is the email Green Shield will use to correspond with you. Click ‘Next’ to continue.

10.   On the ‘Direct Deposit’ page click ‘Next’ to continue – you can add your direct deposit information on the portal after your complete the registration process.

11.    To set up your "Security Questions”. Choose any security questions you want and click the “All Done. Go to My Dashboard” Button.

12.    Review the Terms and Conditions and click the “Accept” button.

13.   You should now have access to your health and dental plan Green Shield Portal.


Recommendations: 

  • Read through the coverage booklet property before booking an appointment.

  • You can download the app on your phone. This will allow you to have direct access to your benefit anywhere.

  • We also recommend printing out an ID Card which you can find on the platform and have it with you at all times, especially if you are traveling outside of the country.

  • Before booking an appointment call the service provider office and ask them if they do direct billing.

  • If you have to pay upfront save all the receipts and ask the service provider front desk for a detailed receipt for an insurance claim.

  • We highly recommend linking a direct deposit to your account.
