Senate Sub-Committees Vacancies 2026
Students play an important role in University governance and decision-making. There are a few vacancies on University Senate Sub-Committees and we’re seeking students to fill these roles in advance of the Fall semester.

These committees are volunteer positions and are a great opportunity to learn more about how the university operates and share your critical student expertise and perspectives!

VACANCIES
ACADEMIC PLANNING + PRIORITIES
- 2 Undergraduate Students
- 1 Graduate Student
This committee oversees decisions that impact academic affairs beyond what is taught in class this can be the academic calendar, schedule, examinations, academic standing, library, reading week, and more.
CURRICULUM PLANNING + REVIEW
- 2 Undergraduate Students
- 1 Graduate Student
The committee reports to senate and has the authority to make recommendations to the senate.
Critical committee that prepares, reviews, and recommends curricular and course changes to senate. For example, faculty driven updates to course descriptions, changes to pre-requisites or year level(s) of a course.
Prepares, reviews, and recommends to senate feedback on academic policies regarding new courses or programs.
APPEALS
- 1 Student from the Faculty of Culture + Community
- 1 Student from the Faculty of Art
- 1 Student from the Faculty of Design + Dynamic Media
- 1 Student from the Faculty of Graduate Studies
The Appeals committee goes over appeals cases to the university. This can take a lot of different forms like grade appeals, disciplinary. decision, and go over policies relating to appeals.
FINANCIAL AWARDS
- 2 Undergraduate Students
This committee deals with financial awards, scholarships, bursaries, and the policies around them. If you are currently applying for financial awards - you cannot sit on this committee.
