Tuition Freeze

We are incredibly happy to announce that after months and months of work by your student representatives we have successfully advocated for a freeze on tuition increases for the academic year 2021-2022.

At the board of governors yesterday, the vote was a tie; 7 voted to oppose tuition increases and 7 voted to approve. A tie meant that the motion failed, and so tuition won’t be increased this year. This is a historic moment, and we want to thank the staff, faculty, and administrators in that meeting who supported students.

We couldn’t have done this without the help of you, our students, our members, our community. This is a great win for affordable, accessible post-secondary education across Canada and we will continue to fight for you and your needs. This is only the beginning and we’re so happy to be part of this movement with you.
